RACE RULES

FRA Rules Apply Plus Following:

LIABILITY & RESPONSIBILITY
The race organisers take no responsibility or liability for accidents, injuries or loss.
Race competitors are responsible for their own health, safety, and property.
Whilst all care is taken to ensure accuracy of information, distances and times, the race organisers can also take no responsibility for any error that may occur.

OBJECTIVE 
To race to the top of Moelfre and back; start & finish at the marked line at the race base at the community fair ground, Llanbedr

OBLIGATORY POINTS & MARKERS
The signed & marked race start & finish line;
Race start & finish lanes on the public road as marked; 
Designated wall crossing points as marked;
To qualify for a race time & position, front race numbers must be punched with the orienteering control punch set at the clearly marked point at the small cairn on Moelfre summit (Grid ref. 2624/3247)

OTHER ROUTE MARKERS
All other route markers are for guidance & convenience only.

ROAD CROSSINGS & USE
The race organisers do not take responsibility for competitor road use or crossing;
Main road crossings are signed & marshalled to improve conditions for competitor road crossing;
Race marshals do not have the authority to halt vehicles using public roads;
It is a clear condition of race entry that competitors agree that the decision and responsibility for safe road use and safe road crossing are entirely theirs.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 


 

GATES & WALL CROSSINGS
Designated gates and wall crossings will be clearly marked;
Race marshals check that only designated wall crossings are used;
It is essential that all field gates remain closed at all times;
Dry-stone walls must on no account be scaled in the absence of stiles.
Failure to use designated crossings threatens the race future thus must result in disqualification.

SAFETY
The organisers maintain the right to refuse the entry of a competitor if inappropriately equipped;
Race marshals will check all entrants through each check-point & inform race control of problems;
Failure to pass through a check-point will result in a route check and emergency services stand-by;
Seriously injured or lost competitors will be dealt with by the emergency services;
Please try to inform the race marshals of injuries or other problems noticed with fellow competitors.

RETIRING FROM THE RACE
Entrants retiring from the race must inform race organisers to avoid unnecessary emergencies;
The FRA treats such situations very seriously with offenders barred from future FRA competitions;
In case of poor navigation, telephone the police as soon as possible.

RACE ROUTE
The race organisers reserve the right to alter the race route at any time according to weather conditions or other factors.

PHOTOGRAPHIC IMAGES
The race organisers reserve the right to use photographic or other images of the race for publicity & promotional purposes as required in the future.
